Keysight Enables DEKRA to Validate Caller Location of E112 Mobile Phone Under New Regulations

The collaboration leverages Location Based Services (LBS) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technologies to verify E112 regulatory test cases used to validate mobile phones sold in the European market. The new regulation supports emergency services across the European Union by reducing emergency service response times to save more lives.

Keysight’s network emulation solutions enable DEKRA to validate E112-related test cases regulated by a guidance document issued by the EU to help Notified Bodies assess E112 compliance. The new EU regulation (Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/320) entered into force on March 17, 2022. It stipulates that all new mobile phones sold in the EU must support constellation-based GNSS technology. Galileo, Advanced Mobile Location (AML) and Wi-Fi communication technology.
