Summary of work (part-time position)

The graduate nurse (IA) provides direct patient care in an outpatient clinical setting; assesses patient needs, provides education services, and assists health care providers in driving a comprehensive health care delivery system. Responsible for Nurse Navigator duties in area of ​​focus or assigned group when assigned by manager. This position will be in an outpatient pediatric ward.

The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical support services to the physician. The MA’s duties include preparing guests for the room,
laboratory tests, ECG, updraft treatments, measurement of vital signs, procedures, administration of medications and vaccinations. This position also requires proficiency with electronic records and basic knowledge of front office procedures such as scheduling appointments. The MA will work in an outpatient pediatric ward.

The PA must have knowledge of medical terms and applicable equipment, medical clinical protocols and procedures, patients, triage methods, concepts and practices, communications and techniques, procedures and standards for medication administration and patient care, patient records and patient medical care. history, operation of equipment such as catheters, oxygen, and applicable OSHA, federal, and state health, environmental, and safety rules and regulations.

Essential RN functions

• Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with corporate compliance policies;
• Assesses patient needs, assists medical staff in the direct delivery of care and initiates treatment under the supervision of a physician and understands prescriptions, and generates appropriate notations from the medical record;
• Helps comply with OSHA regulations, including testing, quality control, and respective nursing protocols;
• Provides direct service to patients in the conduct of various clinical procedures within the approved scope of nursing licensure;
• Preparing patients for minor in-office surgeries, monitoring these patients during these surgeries and during their recovery, and keeping physicians informed of the patient’s condition;
• Assists or performs directly under supervision therapeutic procedures, including administration of medications, application of dressings and removal of sutures and bandages, and other procedures that are performed by the provider;
• Provides patients and others with health care information regarding treatment, prevention, and chronic care regimens;
• Assists in performing physical examinations and other procedures and may perform designated laboratory procedures;
• Provides first aid or emergency care as needed and may coordinate patient health care needs with the Case Manager;
• Complete proficiency testing on all required nursing procedures and skills;
• Master the electronic medical records system;
• Performs Nurse Navigator duties in focus area or assigned pod when assigned.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.

MY Essential functions

  • Receives customers and prepares appointments with suppliers according to department procedures. This includes obtaining and recording vital signs and the client’s primary complaint.
  • Notifies provider immediately of abnormal vital signs (i.e. low or high blood pressure, low or high heart rate, low 02 saturation, difficulty breathing, bleeding or hemorrhage, decreased level of consciousness).
  • Appropriately communicates provider instructions to customers and serves as a patient advocate to the provider. This includes contacting clients regarding abnormal laboratory or diagnostic values ​​and accurately conveying provider instructions, scheduling/rescheduling appointments according to provider instructions, effectively representing patients’ health care needs and concerns. provider and return patient phone calls in a timely manner;
  • Performs laboratory and other tests in accordance with approved departmental protocols. This includes demonstration of competence in performing blood glucose tests, urinalysis, rapid strep tests, fecal occult blood tests, and urine pregnancy tests; properly instruct patients on specimen collection, such as clean urinalysis and sputum specimen collection; demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy techniques; and performs ECG, thermal treatments, oximetry and O2 setup and administration;
  • Maintains equipment and supplies necessary for patient care, including maintaining adequate supplies to perform patient exams and procedures, ensuring exam rooms are set up appropriately for providers to provide proper customer care and placing orders, through the assigned staff member, for equipment and/or supplies;
  • Provides documentation of all client interactions in the client’s electronic medical record, including recording vital signs, major complaints, and other appointment-specific information in the patient’s electronic medical record; records all telephone interactions with customers in the electronic medical record, records all prescription refills for customers in the electronic medical record as requested by the provider, and records all other relevant and customer-specific information in the medical record ;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, including following guidelines established at time of assignment, accepts assignments voluntarily, prioritizes workload to ensure timely completion of assignment , asks appropriate clarifying questions related to the scope of the assignment and participates in the training of other CMA students depending on their assignment.

Minimum qualifications

RN Education:

This position requires the RN to graduate from an accredited institution of nursing with an associate degree or diploma. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience is required. This position must have proven work experience with full-load practical nursing responsibility and demonstrated proficiency with all aspects of nursing protocols and procedures. RNs must possess valid Wyoming registration as a registered nurse and must be current with BLS certification.

MA Education

This position requires the MA to have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant Program certification with the National Association of Health Professionals within sixty (60) days of the last day of the clinical externship.

Must have a proven work history with full-load practical nursing responsibility and demonstrated competence with all aspects of nursing protocols and procedures.

MAs must be current with BLS certification.
