As a Medical Support Assistant, you will perform clerical and clerical duties and provide customer service. You’ll answer the phone, greet veteran patients, schedule appointments and consultations, help determine daily clinic needs, verify and update insurance information, and more. Part of your daily duties will be to manage administrative information with professional staff, patients, patient caregivers and their representatives.

Minimum qualifications for this position typically include excellent customer service skills, administrative computer skills, and the ability to learn and use basic medical terms. On-the-job experience in a clerical, clerical, customer service, or other administrative job, as well as a post-secondary education, may also qualify you for higher grades and better pay. .
